I recently had the opportunity to fly out to Indiana to shoot NASCAR superstar Tony Stewart for an Armor All advertising campaign. He was a pretty cool cat. And we were rockin’ some crazy cool music the entire shoot. It was freezing (shot mid December) but everything ran pretty smooth. Note to Self: Driving on ice is not fun for future reference.
I picked up the new Canon 5d Mark II as a back up to my Mark III but mainly for the HD option. As a photographer who is rather intrigued by motion, this is an amazing new feature. And the footage that this camera takes is freakin’ beautiful.
I had just received it the day before flying out so we had yet to figure out the HD controls. But with the video guys from NASCAR there I just handed it to them and said shoot YO!
So here’s my first official (be it very short) behind the scenes video. I hope that this is something we will be doing more often now that we have this camera. Peace.

Quality is awesome… shakiness isn’t so much. Still, the 5D is definitely on the list of stuff to purchase when the Feds approve my economic stimulus package.
All I’ve seen up to this point from the 5D has been Laforet’s Reverie — it’s neat to see what happens when you just say “go.”
Yeah Jeff, killin it! You’ve got so much energy! If you ever need a BTS shooter, give me a ring. always a pleasure.
